Minute Order No. 2003-02L Matter of nominations and re-nominations of Board and <br />Commission members-District 3. <br /> <br />The City Council made a motion to approve the nominations of Board and <br />Commission Members-District 3 as follows: <br /> <br />. Nomination of nlember to Board of Zoning Adjustments (District 3}--Alice Chin. <br />(1019) <br /> <br />. Nomination of menlber to Planning Commission (District 3}-- William "Bill" Perras. <br />(1018) <br /> <br />. Nomination of member to Recreation and Parks Commission (District 3)-Nat <br />Kleinstein. (1020) <br /> <br />9. ITEMS REMOVED FROM CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Public comments are limited to 3 minutes per person per item. <br /> <br />8B. Matter of proposed Neighborhood Clean Up program to address the City Council's <br />2002 Neighborhood Beautification Goal (proposes Neighborhood Clean Up Program; <br />staff seeks Council input on this item and/or authorization to move forward with the <br />proposed program). (2939) <br /> <br />Councilmember Badger requested a presentation on the item. City Manager J ermanis <br />introduced Assistant to the City Manager Eric Figueroa, who gave a PowerPoint <br />presentation giving details on the Neighborhood Clean Up program. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Badger expressed concern regarding restricting the event activities to <br />residents within the district and suggested some flexibility be given. Councilmember <br />N ardine asked if there was a way to tie in the event with West Nile Virus Awareness <br />Week, April 28-May 4, noting it could serve to alert the community about the need to get <br />rid of old tires which might be harboring mosquitoes. Vice Mayor Glaze inquired about <br />the possibility of having ACI drop boxes off in District 4 and asked when discussions will <br />begin with Oro Loma Sanitary District. City Manager J ermanis indicated the City would <br />like to launch the program and have the experience from the first event before <br />approaching Oro Lorna for their cooperation and assistance in expanding the program <br />citywide. Vice Mayor Glaze remarked this is both a good cleanup program and a good <br />community program and addresses Council's goals. <br />
