JOINT CITY COUNCIL/SAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PUBLIC <br />HEARINGS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Conlll1ents are limited to 3 minutes per person. When you address the City Council, you <br />should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be <br />determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to <br />nlake comlnents on items of public interest NOT listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Kathy Banks, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council, commenting on the <br />accessibility of parks for the disabled and the Emergency Alert sirens. <br /> <br />Mike Rawlis, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council, pointing out the need for <br />recreation programs and other activities for non-senior adults. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council regarding problems with <br />neighbors parking cars on their lawns and having overgrown weeds in their yards. Mr. Perez <br />expressed concern that there is garbage being dropped on the ground during the transfer from <br />the garbage can to the truck on pickup days. <br /> <br />Arcelia Lopez, President of Latinos Unidos/San Leandro High School, addressed the City <br />Council regarding the City's denial of the club's permit application to hold their Noche de <br />Carnival dance on May 2 from 7-11 p.m. in the quad at San Leandro High School due to the <br />requirements contained in the new Noise Ordinance which restrict their time to 10:00 p.m. <br />Ms. Lopez requested a reconsideration of the club's permit application. <br /> <br />Judy Rosas, Vice President of Latinos Unidos/San Leandro High School, addressed the <br />City Council, pointing out the merits of the event and suggesting the new Science and <br />Technology Wing may nlitigate the noise generated by the dance. <br /> <br />Abigail Figueroa, former member of Latinos Unidos, addressed the City Council, <br />conlmenting on the ilnportance of the dance to the Latino students at the high school and <br />nlentioned a letter of support written by Associate Principal Amy Furtado. <br /> <br />Ed Saenz, Future Productions, addressed the City Council, describing his company's plan <br />to hold several benefit shows to raise money for the music departments of the San Leandro <br />and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts. <br /> <br />Darlene Evans, 361 Bristol Boulevard, addressed the City Council regarding the need for <br />enforcenlent of the Noise Ordinance and mentioned several nuisance issues on Bristol <br />Boulevard. <br />
