Matter of Review and Consideration of a Recommendation Regarding Proposed <br />Increases in Wastewater Fees for 2003-2006 (provides for adjustment to sewer-service <br />user fees and charges effective July 1, 2003). <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, City Manager <br />J ennanis introduced Public Works Services Director Bob Rockett, who gave a <br />PowerPoint presentation describing the proposed fee increases. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Paul Vargas, 872 Portola Drive, addressed the City Council, inquiring whether the fee <br />increases proposed are subject to the guidelines of Proposition 218. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without opposition, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />City Manager J ermanis responded to the question posed by Mr. Vargas, stating <br />Proposition 218 does not apply to sewer fees. <br /> <br />Counciln1ember Santos asked if the Chamber of Commerce had been given the <br />opportunity to comlnent on the fee increases. Mr. Jermanis confinned that a <br />presentation on the proposed increases had been made to the Chamber of Commerce's <br />Industrial Roundtable. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-114" Resolution amending Title 12, Chapter 5 of the San <br />Leandro Administrative Code Relating to Fees, Charges and Classifications of <br />Users for Sewer Services Provided in Accordance with the Uniform Wastewater <br />Discharge Regulations.
