<br />MINUTES Page 12 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-September 15,2003 <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that LYnn Suter sustained serious injuries in a recent fall at the State <br />Capitol Building. She announced the one-millionth call to the 511 Travel Information system <br />was made last week by a San Leandro resident, who has been referred to as a "San Leandro <br />Road Warrior." Mayor Young and Councilmember Grant both noted the 511 system does not <br />currently work with Verizon cell phone service. Mayor Young provided copies of the <br />Metropolitan Transportation Commission Annual Report to the Council and passed on to <br />Councilmember Grant the results of a survey on regionalism and smart growth by the U.S. <br />Conference of Mayors. Mayor Young commented on the recent Daily Review news article on <br />the health hazards posed by vermiculite and wanted to insure City staff is made aware. Vice <br />Mayor Glaze expressed concern that there are no warnings printed on bags of vermiculite sold <br />in hardware and garden stores. <br /> <br />13.
