PRESENTATIONSIRECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the following presentations made since the last regular City Council <br />meeting: <br /> <br />· A proclamation was presented to the San Leandro Yacht Club for its 40th Anniversary <br />and proclaiming October 5,2003 as "San Leandro Yacht Club Day" in San Leandro. <br />· The Mayor and City Council made a contribution from the Mayor's Community Fund <br />to the Leadership San Leandro for scholarships. <br />· The Mayor and City Council made a contribution from the Mayor's Community Fund <br />and the Mayor's Empowerment Fund to the San Leandro Police DARE Program. <br />· The Mayor and City Council made a contribution from the Mayor's Community Fund <br />to the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce for its golf tournament. <br />· A proclamation was presented in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of the Festival of <br />Our Lady of Penafrancia in the City of San Leandro and proclaiming September 20, <br />2003 as "Our Lady ofPenafrancia Day." <br />· A letter of congratulations was sent to resident Sofie Schober on the occasion of her 95th <br />birthday. <br /> <br />Mayor Young also announced that on Sunday, November 2, Vice Mayor Glaze will <br />present on her behalf a joint birthday commendation to seventeen seniors at Eden Lodge <br />who are over age 90. <br /> <br />A. Recognition of the Employee of the Month for the month of October 2003, <br />Pat Voss, Human Resources Technician, Human Resources Department. <br /> <br />Pat Voss was present to receive her award. <br /> <br />B. Presentation by Friends of the Creek on the CD-ROM Educational Project. <br /> <br />Recreation and Human Services Manager Joann Oliver introduced Rick Richards, <br />President of The Friends of San Leandro Creek, and Susan Criswell, the City's <br />Watershed Awareness Coordinator.
