(2221/1156) <br /> <br />The City Council approved the re-appointment of City Council Member Grant <br />as Representative on the Alameda County Housing Authority, Board of <br />Commissioners, for the four-year term January 1,2002 through December 31, <br />2006. <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Loeffler. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Mayor Young <br /> <br />C. Resolution No. 2002-]4, Resolution In Support of Proposition 42, Transportation <br />Congestion Improvement Act. Allocation of Existing Motor Vehicle Fuel Sales and <br />Use Tax Revenues for Transportation Purposes Only. Legislative Constitutional <br />Amendment (on the March 5, 2002, Statewide Ballot). Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Mayor Young <br /> <br />A City Council discussion ensued regarding the need to bring forward a policy <br />whereby ballot issues and/or propositions are considered for support or opposition by <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />There was City Council consensus to charge the City Council Rules and <br />Communications Committee with developing a policy statement regarding <br />ballot issues or propositions and the manner in which they are presented to <br />the City Council for support or opposition. (1123/1968) <br /> <br />D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />No action taken. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member Badger remarked about the nice Martin Luther King, Jr. event that <br />took place Monday, January 21, 2002 and commended staff who helped facilitate <br />the festivities. <br /> <br />n. Council Member Grant echoed comments made by Council Member Badger and <br />thanked the public for participating in the event. <br />
