April 1, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2002-22, Matter of Certification of the Final Environmental <br />Impact Report (FEIR) and Adoption of the San Leandro General Plan. <br />(1176/1428/1977) <br /> <br />The City Council continued the matter of the Certification of the Final <br />Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) and Adoption of the San Leandro <br />General Plan and requested staff bring the matter back for discussion as <br />soon as possible. <br /> <br />No Vote <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments arc limited to 3 minutes per person. When you address lhe City <br />Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order <br />of speakers may be detemlined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. <br />The public is invited to make comments on Consent Calendar items, or other items of <br />public interest not listed on the Agenda, at this time. <br /> <br />Freda Jones, San Leandro Childcare Task Force, addressed the City Council <br />regarding the importance and need for continued funding from the State of Calif()[nia <br />for childcare. <br /> <br />.Joel Ng, 461 Begonia Dr., San Leandro, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />persecution of individuals practicing Falun Gong in China. <br /> <br />Peter Towers, 1506 80th Avenue, Oakland, addressed the City Council regarding <br />persecution of individuals practicing Falun Gong in China. <br /> <br />Loretta Lam, 1436 Church Ave., San Leandro, addressed the City Council <br />promoting Falun Gong as a healthy exercise alternative for the mind, body and spirit. <br /> <br />Harold Ilerez, 2052 Vestal Ct., addressed the City Council regarding various <br />community compliance issues in his neighborhood. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Dr., addressed the City Council regarding the public <br />hearing for the General Plan. He noted no one who spoke during the hearing represents <br />the community. He added the City Council should have a separate agenda for <br />Redevelopment Agency items and concluded by commenting on the need for a Public <br />Advocate's Otlice. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashed, 672 Tudor Rd., addressed the City Council regarding the need to <br />regulate absentee landlords to make them responsible for landscaping and maintenance <br />of their properties. <br />
