Council Member Loeffler presented the proclamation Jiol1l Mayor Young to all teachers in both the San Leandro and San Lorenzo school districts. Other Proclamations Mayor Young announced two additional proclamations that were made sll1ee the Council last met: · Proclamation declaring the month of May 2002 as "Older Americans Month." . Proclamation declaring the week of April 21--27, 2002, as "National Volunteer Week. " 3. PUBLIC HEARINGS - REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ONLY Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the City Council, you should till out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be detennined and an official record of names and addresses obtained. A. Matter of Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro Review of the Redevelopment Plan and Implementation Plan and Evaluation of the Progress orthe County of Alameda-City of San Leandro Redevelopment Project (provides [or public review of and comment on the progress or the Joint Project Area Redevelopment and implementation Plans, as required by Health and Safety Code Section 33490). This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Luke Sims, Business Development Manager, gave a presentation outlining the program and language changes 101' the Redevelopment project area. The Hearing was then opened to the public. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council and expressed his dissatisfaction with the redevelopment process in general. There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. M/S/C Santos and Grant. Ayes: 7; Noes; 0 City Council Members had a brief discussion about funding and ways to evaluate the progress and effectiveness ofthe project.
