Council Member Nardine also said she, too, was <br />conccrned with economic dcvelopmcnt in the City and questioned how we can <br />improve in this area. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine expressed conccrn about lee-based Rccreation programs <br />limiting participants and asked how participation for low-income kids could be <br />increased. City Manager Jennanis notcd Recreation currently providcs assistancc to <br />nimilies, and CouneiJ Member Nardine requested the assistancc program be <br />advertised in schools. <br /> <br />Council Member Santos suggested Council Members tour the Georgia Paci tic plant <br />and other facilities so they have firsthand knowledge when debating wastewater fee <br />lI1creases. <br /> <br />Mayor Young asked that the percentage of overtime expended by the Police <br />Department be defined more clearly so the figure docs not appear to be 71.9% of the <br />total budgct. The Mayor also commended the staff on the fine job they did on the <br />budget. <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis congratulated Assistant Manager Schilling and Mary Foster, <br />Administrative Assistant, on the outstanding PowerPoint presentation they preparcd <br />lar the budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Young thankcd Jeff Goldlien, Assistant City Attorney, for attending thc <br />Council meeting in City Attorney Randolph's absence. <br /> <br />11.
