<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, <br />San Leandro Housing Finance Corporation, <br />San Leandro Parking Authority, <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority, and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - June 3,2002 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler indicated the recent approval of all employee contracts <br />implies satisfaction, but he stated the City needs measurable performance standards <br />for staff to avoid status quo. He said the City Council should develop these <br />standards so the public is informed. Council Member Loeffler also said the City <br />should find ways to encourage employees to live in San Leandro. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler shared an article from California Metro Patterns and said <br />San Leandro is an "at risk" community-an aging community that needs to be <br />revitalized. <br /> <br />C. Vice Mayor Glaze commended Carolyn Knudtson and her staff for the great <br />Cherry Festival. He said the renewal of the department has made a difference and <br />thanked the staff for its role in bringing about the change. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze said the women's restroom facilities at the Marina were <br />problematic with such a large crowd and suggested this issue be addressed in a <br />facilities plan. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze also mentioned the major impact areas in San Leandro and <br />stated Council Member Badger's successful clean-up program should be expanded <br />to other areas to showcase what a city can do. He said the City has done it before <br />and indicated it is time to do it again. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze indicated he does not see progress on the median maintenance <br />projects and asked that emphasis be placed on these projects. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Nardine congratulated Carolyn Knudtson, City Manager <br />Jermanis, the Police Department, and all staff who contributed to the Cherry <br />Festival, saying they did an excel1ent job. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine asked for clarification about the Joint Use and <br />Maintenance of Public Facilities Agreement and the terminology "community <br />facilities. " <br /> <br />E. Council Member Badger thanked Carolyn Knudtson and her staff for the quality <br />Cherry Festival. <br /> <br />Council Member Badger invited each City Council Member to identity a hotspot in <br />his or her district in which to expand his "Clean and Green" program. <br />
