PUBLIC HEARINGS - ALL AGENCIES <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. Matter of City Manager's Proposed Budget, 2002-2003 Fiscal Year (including the <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, San Leandro Economic Development <br />Agency, San Leandro Housing Finance Corporation, San Leandro Parking <br />Authority, and San Leandro Public Financing Authority). (1028) <br /> <br />Recommendations from Human <br />Assistance Grant Program. <br /> <br />Services Commission for Community <br />(2024) <br /> <br />Response to City Council Budget Questions. <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, John <br />Jermanis, City Manager, presented a summary of the proposed budget and <br />responded to questions raised at the May 20, 2002, City Council meeting. <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis then introduced Joann Oliver, Recreation and Human <br />Services Manager, who gave an overview of the Community Benefit Grant <br />Program and the Community Assistance Grant Program. <br /> <br />City Council Members discussed several issues, such as funding to high school <br />parents' groups; the disparity between the amount requested and the funding <br />recommendation for those who applied for the Community Assistance grant; the <br />application for childcare services for the San Leandro Adult School; the number of <br />people, especially children that the Alameda County Food Bank serves; and three <br />formerly funded agencies that are not recommended for funding during this cycle. <br />
