<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, <br />San Leandro Housing Finance Corporation, <br />San Leandro Parking Authority, <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority, and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - June 3,2002 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council in opposition <br />to the Council's becoming involved in school district business. He also distributed <br />a copy of his letter to the editor of the San Leandro Times, dated Thursday, June <br />22, 2002, to City Council Members and stated residents should be aware of what is <br />contained in the budget document. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without opposition, the <br />Public Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />City Council Members had a brief discussion about such issues as access to <br />recreation fee programs for economically disadvantaged youth, fees and costs for <br />legal services for the City, economic vs. redevelopment projects, the Shoreline <br />fund, professional services contracts, and staff reports on conferences and travel. <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per person. When you address the City <br />Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the <br />order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses <br />obtained. The public is invited to make comments on Consent Calendar items, or <br />other items of public interest not listed on the Agenda, at this time. <br /> <br />A Audrey Albers, 2037 Marina Court, addressed the City Council and encouraged <br />them to support reinstatement ofthe park in Mulford Gardens. <br /> <br />B. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, addressed the City Council and expressed <br />concern about the late-night activities at the transition house at 2493 West Avenue <br />136th <br /> <br />C. Mary Stark, 2483-B West Avenue 1361h, addressed the City Council and <br />expressed concern about the safety of her neighborhood because of the high <br />volume of traffic and the activities at the transition house on West Avenue 136th. <br /> <br />D. Jeanne France, 13530 Aurora Drive, addressed the City Council and expressed <br />fear and concern about neighborhood safety on West Avenue 136th. <br /> <br />E. Leo Vincent, 625 Arbor Drive, addressed the City Council and expressed <br />concern about health issues from the heavy smoke caused by regular burning on <br />the private property adjacent to Washington School. <br />
