Items removed from the Consent Calendar: 7 A Minutes of the Meeting of June 3, 2002. Council Member Loef11er removed the City Council Minutes of June 3, 2002, indicating that comments he made regarding the Budget were not reflected verbatim, as requested. Council Member Loeffler repeated, for the record, what he had said:: "Today much of what we do is smoke and min'ors in the budget process hidden from the public, the taxpayer, with no access. As I prepare to get off the train, refelTing to the City Council, r have to wonder how do we sustain San Leandro as our employees leave and move over the hill to live in Pleasanton and Danville and San Ramon, which arc perceived to be higher quality communities. Will they be here when Mother Nature gives us a major shake? I wonder what policy changes we need to ensure that the people of San Leandro survive." Council Member Loeffler remarked that he works hard at reviewing his packet and doing his homework lor the Council Meeting, and he expects his remarks to be recorded as he says them, not to be translated into something else. Vice Mayor Glaze indicated to Council Member Loeffler that ifhe wished to rcler this issue back to the Rules Committee, he could do so, but the Cllrrent policy of the City Council is to not havc vcrbatim Minutes or to have them transcribed, unless it is requestcd in advance.
