City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />July 1, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported on the AC Transit Central County Transportation Plan and <br />the Congestion Management Authority Meeting held last week. She indicated she <br />would be providing copies of the BART Seismic Retrofit Repol1 and the Bay <br />Crossing Study to the full City Council. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Business Development Committee Meeting of June 13, 2002. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />2. Disaster Council Meeting of June 19,2002. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler suggested an elected representative Irom each school <br />district sit on the Disaster Council. He added that perhaps this suggestion could <br />be added to the School Liaison Committee Meeting agenda lor discussion. <br /> <br />3. Human Relations Committee Meeting of June 12, 2002. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />RecOlTItllendation for City Council Consideration: <br />a. Consider using gun tax revenue, on a matching basis, to develop a program <br />that addresses the human relations issues identified in the San Leandro High <br />School Student Survey Regarding Diversity and Safety. No Action <br /> <br />General City Council took place regarding how to utilize the gun tax <br />revenue and a lengthy discussion regarding the various ways in which to get <br />input on their use. It was detennined that the Committee would continue to <br />oversee this issue and perhaps consider a policy on how to utilize the funds. <br />It was clarified that any potential program to be funded would come back to <br />the full City Council for approval. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered lor approval <br />by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from <br />the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar <br />are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> <br />Items 7.A and 7.C were removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. <br />The remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: <br /> <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Santos. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Glaze <br /> <br />A. Minutes of the Meeting ofJunc 17,2002. Removed from the Consent Calendar <br />to New Business. <br />
