<br />MINUTES <br />City of San Leandro City Coun~i!,Meeting-November 4,,~~2~02 <br /> <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />had any objections to the Mayor making a pledge from the Mayor's Community Fund to <br />the new Children's Zoo at the Knowland Park Zoo. <br /> <br />B. Vice-Mayor Glaze requested a resolution containing the following items: I) require the <br />City to incur the cost of any sidewalk repairs due to City-installed street trees installed <br />beginning January 1,2003; 2) Vice-Mayor Glaze challenged his fellow Council Members <br />to plant 50 trees in their districts this spring, and i r all Council Members and the Mayor <br />were successful, the budgetary impact would be $17,500; 3) beginning in January 2003, <br />the City would incur the cost of trees installed in residential areas in the City up to 1,000 <br />trees per year, not to exceed $50,000 per year. <br /> <br />City Manager Jcrmanis stated staff would like to bring back to Council the Neighborhood <br />Beautification Program, which would address Vice-Mayor Glaze's interests. Vice-Mayor <br />Glaze asked the report be brought to Council before the end of the year, and the City <br />Manager confinned this will happen. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Nardine reported on the successful Youth Advisory Commission <br />meeting, thanking staff for making the arrangements. Council Member Naniine also <br />expressed disappointment with the poor turnout for the Marina Access planning meeting. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Badger stated he is pleased overall with Clean and Green, but noted <br />laxity on the part of the group responsible lor the Regency Plaza area. <br /> <br />E. Council Member Loefller's comments were submitted via the attached notes. <br /> <br />10.
