PRI!:SENT ATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />A Recognition of the Employee of the Month for the 1110nth of December 2002, <br />Tom Overton, Police Department. <br /> <br />Sergeant Tom Ovclion was present to receive his award. <br /> <br />B. Recognition of Garfield Elementary School DARE Program graduates. <br /> <br />Garfield Elementary Schoo] Principal .Ian Hulls introduced fifth grade students Melanic <br />Bongard, Joshua Samedi, Salvador Navarro, Avegail Payumo, Robert LaCome and Helen <br />Velasquez. The students read essays they wrote describing the lessons they leamed in the <br />DARE Program. Mayor Young presented the students with commemorative City pins. <br />DARE Officer Henning thanked the students and teachers for their participation and hard <br />work. The Mayor and Counci]members were presented with DARE T-shirts. <br /> <br />Plincipal Hulls presented a [rurned plaque and the "Garlleld Gator" from Garfield School <br />to Councilmember Garry Loeffler in recognition of his years of service to the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Young announced the [allowing proclamations and awards were presented since <br />the last City Council meeting: <br /> <br />. The Mayor and City Council made a presentation to the Bay Area All-Stars for their <br />participation in a national cheerleading championship. <br /> <br />. A Celiificate of Appreciation was presented to Alice Creason fl.)r her representation <br />of San Leandro on the AC Transit Board. <br />
