<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - February 5, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />· A Certificate of Recognition to James Garcia for 14 years of service to the City of San <br />Leandro. <br /> <br />· Letters of congratulations to Norm Weisbrod and Greg Mailho, upon their retirement <br />from the City after 31 years of service. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the <br />City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the <br />order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses <br />obtained. <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Barbara Tierney, 3965 Mission Way, President of Floresta Homeowners' <br />Association, addressed the City Council regarding a change in street pattern on <br />Floresta Blvd. <br /> <br />B. Joe Collier, 792 Floresta Boulevard, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />traffic problems on Floresta Blvd. He indicated that the speed limit has increased <br />to 35 mph from 25 mph. and requested that Floresta Blvd. be given the same <br />configuration as Bancroft Avenue to provide for bike lanes and turning lanes. He <br />further commented that he has spoken with Chief Kitchen regarding traffic <br />enforcement on Floresta and reported that 23 residents had signed a petition to <br />change the street traffic pattern. <br /> <br />C. Mike Rawlis, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council regarding <br />businesses that are continuing to operate with their neon lights late at night while <br /> <br />. . . <br />we are In an energy cnSlS. <br /> <br />D. Kathy Banks, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />proposal to have the Bayfair Mall revert back to an open mall. She expressed her <br />opposition to the open mall concept due to climate conditions. <br />
