PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Kathy Banks, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council and asked that <br />they not allow the operators of the Bal Theater to be put out of business. <br /> <br />B. Mike Rawlis, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />need for a power plant in the Marina area, adding that it could service nearby cities <br />also. <br /> <br />C. Bob Battinich, 2014 Evergreen Avenue, addressed the City Council in support <br />of Item H - the Eminent Domain Policy. He asked the City Council to include in <br />the motion that eminent domain not be used for anything other than roads, schools, <br />or something that would benefit the business community as a whole. <br /> <br />D. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, addressed the City Council questioning the <br />process for approving an application for handicapped parking in front of one's <br />residence. He indicated that both sides of the street should be required to sign the <br />petition required. He concluded by indicating that he would like to see Item F <br />approved. <br /> <br />E. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding <br />Steve Meyers acting as the City Attorney last meeting. He questioned the <br />Redevelopment Agency Lease on the agenda, and the policy regarding eminent <br />domain. He asked for a copy of all JP As that the City participates in. He <br />concluded by stating that the budget should show the total number of city <br />employees, compensation and benefits. He suggested that the City operate as a <br />"public" business rather than a "private" business. <br /> <br />5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. The City Manager noted the remarks made regarding the energy situation and <br />indicated that the Chamber of Commerce will be co-hosting an Energy Summit. <br />He indicated that the City would be looking at co-generation options. <br /> <br />B. With regard to eminent domain concerns, the City Manager noted that the City <br />Council will be discussing that issue later on the agenda. <br />
