Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and the San Leandro Geologic Hazard Abatement District Joint Meeting - March 19,2001 Page 11 Council Member Loeffler requested a status of the City' s Wastewater Treatment plan, noting that this subject has been in an "ad-hoc committee" for some time. He stressed the need for public discussion regarding whether the City should maintain or divest itself and transfer the operations to the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) or Oro Lorna. Council Member Loeffler reported on the positive feedback from seniors regarding recently installed bus stops along the AC 55 Route and commended staff on their efforts in making this happen. Council Member Loeffler concluded by requesting a monthly report on how many building permits are being issued in San Leandro. D. Council Member Santos indicated that he would be preparing a written summary regarding his trip to the National League of Cities Conference. He reported on his memorable visit to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. He indicated that he took photos of the monument and reported on two officers from San Leandro that were named on the wall. E. Mayor Young noted that the wastewater treatment plant analysis and data research is still on-going. Mayor Young reported on her presentation with the City Attorney Emeritus, Steve Meyers, to the UPEC regarding their trip to Ponta Delgada last May. She suggested that they are planning a presentation to the official City Family in the near future to be scheduled in the Council Chambers. 10. CONTINUED PUBLIC COMMENTS Continued Public Comments is limited to the balance of speaker cards that have been submitted to the City Clerk and any new speakers who have not been heard. Comments will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker. There were none.
