<br />.' <br /> <br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and the <br />San Leandro Geologic Hazard Abatement District <br />Joint Meeting - March 19,2001 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler requested a status of the City' s Wastewater Treatment <br />plan, noting that this subject has been in an "ad-hoc committee" for some time. He <br />stressed the need for public discussion regarding whether the City should maintain <br />or divest itself and transfer the operations to the East Bay Municipal Utility <br />District (EBMUD) or Oro Lorna. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler reported on the positive feedback from seniors regarding <br />recently installed bus stops along the AC 55 Route and commended staff on their <br />efforts in making this happen. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler concluded by requesting a monthly report on how many <br />building permits are being issued in San Leandro. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Santos indicated that he would be preparing a written summary <br />regarding his trip to the National League of Cities Conference. He reported on his <br />memorable visit to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. He <br />indicated that he took photos of the monument and reported on two officers from <br />San Leandro that were named on the wall. <br /> <br />E. Mayor Young noted that the wastewater treatment plant analysis and data research <br />is still on-going. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported on her presentation with the City Attorney Emeritus, Steve <br />Meyers, to the UPEC regarding their trip to Ponta Delgada last May. She <br />suggested that they are planning a presentation to the official City Family in the <br />near future to be scheduled in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />10. CONTINUED PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Continued Public Comments is limited to the balance of speaker cards that have been <br />submitted to the City Clerk and any new speakers who have not been heard. <br />Comments will be limited to 5 minutes per speaker. <br /> <br />There were none. <br />
