NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />7.F An Ordinance Adding Title I, Chapter 3, Article 14 to the San Leandro Municipal <br />Code Relating to the Establishment of a Rent Review Board and Amending Section 1- <br />3-100 to Include Such Rent Review Board. <br /> <br />The City Attorney clarified that rents that are increased prior to the ordinance <br />becoming effective will not be covered under this ordinance. The Rent Review Board <br />will not have jurisdiction over raises in rent before May 2, 2001. <br /> <br />The following Ordinance was then introduced: <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2001-09, An Ordinance Adding Title I, Chapter 3, Article 14 to <br />the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to the Establishment of a Rent Review <br />Board and Amending Section 1-3-100 to Include Such Rent Review Board. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office to Mr. Ruiz. <br /> <br />B. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />There was no report. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member Galvan commented on the pending issue regarding 2nd story <br />and/or mega additions to homes and requested that the City Council place it on the <br />April 16, 2001 Agenda for discussion. <br /> <br />B. Council Member Grant questioned how the census data would be reviewed as it <br />relates to services and redistricting. Staff was directed to place this matter on the <br />April 16, 2001 Agenda for discussion. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Nardine commented on Pike Street and that it is the route to <br />Coca-Cola. She questioned if Pike Street should be renamed and requested <br />information on the policy for naming and/or renaming streets. <br />
