PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the <br />City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the <br />order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses <br />obtained. <br /> <br />A. Matter of TEFRA Hearing Regarding the Issuance of Tax-Exempt Industrial <br />Revenue Bonds by the California Statewide Communities Development Authority <br />(a State Agency) for the Expansion ofKennerley-Spratling, Inc., Property Located <br />at 14801 Catalina Street, San Leandro, and City Council Approval of a Joint <br />Powers Agreement. <br /> <br />Seth Hudson, Economic Development Specialist, made a brief presentation <br />regarding the proposed TEFRA Hearing and issuance of bonds. <br /> <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2001-58. Resolution of the City Council of the City of San <br />Leandro Approving, Authorizing and Directing Execution of an Amended and <br />Restated Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement Relating to the California <br />Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA) (provides for the <br />Issuance of Tax Exempt Industrial Development Bonds by the Authority). <br />(2900) <br /> <br />M/S/C Nardine and Santos. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, spoke in opposition to the proposed bond <br />sale process. He noted that if the bonds were issued for a city project, a 2/3rds <br />vote would be required. He voiced his frustration over repeated requests for <br />copies of JP As, which he has not received. He concluded by reaffirming his <br />opposition expressing that city taxpayers will ultimately have to pay. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />WS/C Galvan and Loeffier.
