<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />April 16, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />1. Council Member Loefller reported on his attendance at the Association of Bay <br />Area Governments Spring Conference which was held in San Francisco. He <br />indicated that the conference focused on land use and smart growth. <br /> <br />Council Member Loefller also remarked on the increase in ABAG membership <br />dues indicating that San Leandro's dues for 2001-2002 will be $10,704. He <br />further explained that 90% of ABAG's budget comes from state and federal <br />funds plus contracts for services. Ten percent of their budget comes from dues <br />from 100 Bay Area cities. <br /> <br />Council Member Loefller commented on former leaders of San Leandro who <br />were cited at the dinner celebrating ABAG's 40 years. These former leaders <br />were Jack Maltester, Mayor Emeritus and West McClure, City Manager <br />Emeritus. <br /> <br />Council Member Loefller concluded by reporting on his attendance as the <br />Mayor's alternate at the Waste Management Authority Meeting of April 10th. <br />He indicated that the Authority approved a $75,000 survey to determine <br />attitudes of 600 people in Alameda Council regarding waste prevention and <br />recycling. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. City and San Lorenzo Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />April 3, 2001. <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2001-40, Matter of Appointment of School District <br />Representatives to Serve on City Council Boards and Commissions. <br />(1156/1020) <br /> <br />The City Council referred the matter of the appointment process of <br />School District Representatives to serve on the City Council/School <br />District Liaison Committees to the City Council Rules and <br />Communications Committee. <br /> <br />No Vote <br /> <br />2. Disaster Council Meeting of March 29, 2001. Accepted as submitted. <br />
