Mike Rawlis, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the Bal <br />Theatre and allowing them to continue doing business there. He also spoke in <br />opposition to the proposed view preservation district in Bay-O- Vista and <br />suggested that the residents in Bay-O- Vista should be more concerned with <br />possible earthquakes and hill slides. <br /> <br />E. AI Rosenga, 534 Parrott Street, addressed the City Council regarding the recent <br />passing of Ellen Geis. He indicated that there would be a celebration of her life on <br />July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes as well as a reception in her <br />honor at the Elks Club on Hesperian at 12 noon the same day. <br /> <br />F. Lisa Eversole, 531 Sybil Avenue, addressed the City Council in support of a <br />shopping center at Palma Plaza rather than the Davis Street Community Center. <br /> <br />G. Dr. Nancy Jewell Cross, 1327 Kruger Avenue, addressed the City Council <br />regarding a proposed East Bay Winds Bus Route plan. <br /> <br />5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed the current status of the Palma Plaza, Bal Theatre, and <br />introduced Jane McCrea, new Public Information Officer for the City of San Leandro. <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />1, Council Member Santos reported on a recent Airfield Planning Study Group <br />Meeting. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Loeffler reported on the June 20 Steering Committee <br />Meeting ofthe San Leandro Collaborative. <br /> <br />3. Vice Mayor Glaze reported on the June 27, 2001 Livermore-Amador Valley <br />Water Management Agency Meeting. <br /> <br />4. Mayor Young updated the Council on the Bayside Groundwater Project; <br />reported on a recent Congestion Management Authority Meeting; reported on <br />redistricting efforts by the County Board of Supervisors and concluded by <br />reporting her attendance at the U.S. Conference of Mayor's Meeting in <br />Detroit. <br />
