Mike Rawlis, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the Bal Theatre and allowing them to continue doing business there. He also spoke in opposition to the proposed view preservation district in Bay-O- Vista and suggested that the residents in Bay-O- Vista should be more concerned with possible earthquakes and hill slides. E. AI Rosenga, 534 Parrott Street, addressed the City Council regarding the recent passing of Ellen Geis. He indicated that there would be a celebration of her life on July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes as well as a reception in her honor at the Elks Club on Hesperian at 12 noon the same day. F. Lisa Eversole, 531 Sybil Avenue, addressed the City Council in support of a shopping center at Palma Plaza rather than the Davis Street Community Center. G. Dr. Nancy Jewell Cross, 1327 Kruger Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding a proposed East Bay Winds Bus Route plan. 5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS The City Manager reviewed the current status of the Palma Plaza, Bal Theatre, and introduced Jane McCrea, new Public Information Officer for the City of San Leandro. 6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies 1, Council Member Santos reported on a recent Airfield Planning Study Group Meeting. 2. Council Member Loeffler reported on the June 20 Steering Committee Meeting ofthe San Leandro Collaborative. 3. Vice Mayor Glaze reported on the June 27, 2001 Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency Meeting. 4. Mayor Young updated the Council on the Bayside Groundwater Project; reported on a recent Congestion Management Authority Meeting; reported on redistricting efforts by the County Board of Supervisors and concluded by reporting her attendance at the U.S. Conference of Mayor's Meeting in Detroit.
