Paul Vargas, 872 Portola, addressed the City Council regarding the recently <br />adopted new Zoning Code <br /> <br />5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported that the City has an agreement with the property owner on <br />Williams Street to acquire the propel1y for the firehouse. <br /> <br />The City Manager indicated that park in-lieu fees will be used for the Marina Entrance <br />Improvement Project and that it is an approved budget item. <br /> <br />With regard to the renaming of Neptune Dr., it was noted that the Oeclorination <br />facility and the Golf Course are the only properties affected. <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. City Council Requested Actions <br /> <br />I. Minute Order No. 2001-65, Motion to Refer Request from Davis West <br />Neighborhood Group to Rename "Warden Park" to the City Council Rules and <br />Communications Committee (1156) <br /> <br />The City Council referred a request from the Oavis West Neighborhood <br />Group to rename "Warden Pa."k" to the City Council Rules and <br />Communications Committee. <br /> <br />M/S/C Santos and Loemer. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />B. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />1. The Mayor repof1ed that the Congestion Management Authority will be having <br />a meeting in September regarding "Smart Corridors" and the 1-880 Intermodel <br />Corridor Study Program. She indicated that she would like a discussion of the <br />corridors placed on the Council's September 4, 2001 Council Agenda. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Loeffler reported on the Major Investment Study (MIS) <br />discussions taking place at AIC Transit indicating that they are advancing a <br />recommendation to move toward a Bus Rapid Transit system, preserving the <br />option to explore light rail He added that the MIS Study Group and NC <br />Transit would be meeting qual1crly to oversee the program <br /> <br />3 Council Member Nardine repol1cd on the Mosquito Abatcment display at the <br />County Fair, indicating that it was very well done. <br />
