<br />Minutes- City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />September 4, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />D. Council Member Nardine commented that the Annual Trivia Bee fell" San Leandro <br />is on the same night as the Chamber of Commerce Retreat this year <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine also requested a report on Alameda County Regional <br />Parks Measure monies; commented on the upcoming reception for former Council <br />Member Gordon Galvan, and thanked stall' for the new and useful complaint <br />tracking tl)frns. <br /> <br />E. Council Mernber Grant welcomed newly appointed Council Member Badger, <br />stated she is glad to see Council Member Nardine has recuperated from her leg <br />injury, and requested that the City Council consider referring the use of the tllrmer <br />Ford Motor lot on East 141h Street to the Economic Development and <br />Redevelopment Committee regarding possibilities for use. <br /> <br />Council Member Grant commented further on street patches that have been done <br />on Bancroft and Evergreen and questioned the status of those streets being <br />repaved <br /> <br />In conclusion, Council Member Grant rernarked on the recent retirement of Harry <br />Yahata from CalTrans <br /> <br />F Council Member Badger remarked on the need for statT/Cit y assistance in the <br />selection of fixtures fl.)r lighting that is being reviewed by the Downtown Business <br />Association. He additionally remarked on the increase in trash on Washington <br />between E. 141h Street and Parrott He indicated that the situation is terrible on <br />weekends and questioned who is responsible for cleanup <br /> <br />Council Member Badger also remarked about the condition of the alleyway near <br />Labor Ready on Davis Street indicated that it, too, is in need of clean up and trash <br />removal <br /> <br />In conclusion, Council Member Badger thanked everyone for their supp0l1 and <br />encouragement as he stal1s his tenure on the City Council <br /> <br />G. Mayor Young acknowledged the hard work on behalf of all the Police Otrlcers and <br />Fire Fighters who worked on National Night Out <br /> <br />Mayor Young continued by indicated that there is an event planned to recognize <br />former Council Member Gordon Galvan on September 27, 200 I at the Englander <br />Restaurant frorn 5:30 to 730 pm This event is being planned by Mayor Young, <br />Vice Mayor Glaze and Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Guarino <br />
