<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council, <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority Joint Meeting - October 15,2001 <br /> <br />Page 1 (j <br /> <br />Further Council discussion ensued regarding what discussion had taken place while <br />this matter was before the public and on the ballot. <br /> <br />Aner lengthy comments regarding the process, Council Member Loeffler stated he <br />would prefer the Council refer this issue back to stalT to research and bring all the <br />documents forward again, from the date of that election, before and after and <br />regarding statements made at the time.. <br /> <br />Council Member Glaze commented at Icngth on his recollection or this issue and <br />stated that he believes the Council should honor their original commitment. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented that the Council did go out and work as a team to present <br />the devastating effects of Measure "e" and that the Council did make commitments <br />at the time regarding future exemptions. She suggested to the Council this issue be <br />brought back for consideration after staff has had an opportunity to review Counci I <br />Meeting and Work Session tapes to determine commitments and remarks made by <br />the Council. These comments could be formulated into a matrix which would be <br />more easily reviewed by an Ad Hoc Committee consisting of the Mayor, Vice <br />Mayor Glaze, and any other Council Member who is not on the Finance <br />Committee, along with the City Manager and bring information to the full City <br />Council for further consideration. <br /> <br />Council Member Santos responded that he would rather it stay as a Committee of <br />the whole. <br /> <br />G. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />No Action Taken <br /> <br />10. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member Badger indicated he has talked to business owners regarding <br />getting the City cleaned up and would like to see the City get behind a program to <br />move toward that goal. <br /> <br />B. Council Member Grant commented that she had requested sometime ago that when <br />Ford Motor Company left the lot where cars were stored on East 141h Street, she <br />wanted to encourage stalTto look at developing a South plan lor the area. <br /> <br />By City Council consensus, the matter of developing a plan fl.)r the area along East <br />141h Street from Bayfair Mall to the Ford Motor Company storage lot was referred <br />to the Economic Development and Redevelopment Conunittee. <br />
