Council Member Nardine noted she would like to have an updated organizational <br />chart with employees' nanles, an updated Work Session Schedule, and an update of <br />thc strategic planning session goals. <br /> <br />D. Vice Mayor Glaze requcstcd the City Council adjoum in memory of Georgc Butler, <br />who passed away two weeks ago. <br /> <br />E. Council Member Loemer passed out a repoli from the Cal[fhmia Journal on Child <br />Care and said he believes tbe City Council made a eomrnitment to delineate a <br />specific charge [or the community group working on this issue. By City Council <br />consensus, the matter of outlining tbe cbarge for the Child Care Isslles community <br />group was referred to the Human Relations Committee. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler added he would like the I-1wnan Relations Commission to <br />be tasked with the "process" regarding use of the 3%) gun tax funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler concluded by commending tbe Public Works staff who <br />put their Annual Report together and remarked that he would like to see other <br />depaliments do something similar. <br /> <br />F. Council Member Santos commented on the Daily Revinv column on racial <br />profiling. lIe fclt this goes along with Mike Kessler's program. lIc continued by <br />referencing another article regarding a European Union COUl1 decision on airpoli <br />nOIse Issues. <br /> <br />The Mayor suggested that Council Member Santos provide copies of the European <br />Union Court decision article to the full City Council. <br /> <br />C. Liane Randolph reported on tbe City's gun tax and indicated the City filed suit <br />against Trader's and won in trial cOll/i. Sbe reported that Trader's appealed, and <br />she made an oral argument in the Court o[ Appeals a couple o[ weeks ago. She <br />indicated she felt it went extre111e]y well and expects a decision l~lVorable to the <br />City. <br /> <br />H. Mayor Young stated she purchased with the Mayor's Community [<und monies, on <br />behalf of the City Council, a bronze sponsorsbip and plaque at tbe Festival of thc <br />Senses, an event put on for Alzheimer's rescarch by the Community Adult Day <br />Care Center. She notcd the bronze sponsorship comes with two tickets and if any <br />one would like to attend the event, Monday, October 22,200 I, please let her know. <br /> <br />Mayor Young rcmarkecl she also has commemorative 911 and American Flag pins <br />available from her ofIlce for anyone who would like them to distribute. <br /> <br />Mayor Young recommcnded the R.ules and Communications Committee look into <br />holding City Council meetings on Tuesdays rather than Mondays. <br />
