Report on Closed Session Aetions Taken. <br /> <br />City Attorney Randolph reported that the City Council took action in Closed <br />Session to approve a settlement in the case of the Redevelopment Agency v. <br />Regier Buick. The settlement agreement provided that Begier will develop a <br />new vehicle dealership at the corner of Alvarado and Marina Blvd. The <br />Agency will pay $125,000.00 to Begier Buick upon execution of this agreement <br />and $200,000.00 upon the opening of the dealership. She noted a complete <br />copy of the settlement agreement is available in the City Clerk's Office for <br />review. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member I3adger remarked on his crusade to clean up San Leandro and <br />indicated, unless someone objects, he will be the point person on this issue. <br /> <br />I3. Council Member Santos suggested the City consider reinstituting a program they <br />had to clean up San Leandro in 19l:\4. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Grant invited the Council and any members in the audiencc to <br />an upcoming African/American I3usiness Swnmit being held at the Libraty on <br />Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001. She also suggested more City resource materials be <br />translated into Spanish am.Vor other pertinent languages as a City policy. <br /> <br />D. Council Member Nardine reported on her attendance at the recent Chamber <br />Retreat indicating that discussion took place regarding communication between <br />City Council and business leaders. It was suggested that there be a quarterly City <br />Council/Chamber informal meeting held to discuss matters of mutual concern. <br /> <br />The Mayor explained prior history regarding previous meetings or the City <br />Council and Chamber. Discussions also included current ongoing mcetings <br />between City Committees and the Chamber. In response to comment by Council <br />Member Santos that the full City Council should altend the Chamber's Annual <br />Retreat, the Mayor and City Altorney stressed the need to be sensitive to the <br />Brown Act. <br /> <br />E. Vice Mayor Glaze suggested the Council Meeting be adjoullled in memory of <br />Ron Davis. <br /> <br />F. Council Member Loemer reported on issues discussed at the Charnber Retreat, <br />which included business and industry on Fairway Dr., the exclusion of minority <br />businesses, and the need for c1ariilcation of roles between the Council and <br />Chamber in this maltcr. <br />
