CITY OF SAN LEANDRO STAFF REPORT APPROVED AND FORW ARDED TO CITY COUNCIL DATE: rebruary 5, 2007 TO: John Jemlanis, City Manager FROM: Hanson Hom, comm~nity DCVelOpme~t~rector _ Kathleen Llvemlore, Semor Plann~c Cc \,~, \ BY: SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: MATTER OF DISCUSSION REGARDING THE DRAFT STRATEGY PLAN CONCEPTS: STATION ACCESS IMPROVEMENT PLAN AND DESIGN GUIDELINES REPORT RELATED TO THE DOWNTOWN TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT (TOO) STRATEGY SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION 8MS Design Group has prepared the Draft Strategy Plan Concepts: Station Access Improvement Plan, Design Guidelines report for the Downtown Transit Oriented Development (TOO) Strategy. This dran strategy plan report concentrates on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) required section on station access as well as design guidelines. This report was the major focus of the Downtown TOD Strategy Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2007. The City Council received a copy of this report as part of the CAC packet. The major findings ofthe report will be presented in a PowerPoint presentation. StalT recommends that the City Council provide comments on the Draft Strategy Plan Concepts: Station Access Improvement Plan, Design Guidelines Repol1 for the Downtown TOD Strategy. These comments will be forwarded to the CAC and consultants. BACKGROUND Analysis Not applicable. Current City Council Policy Not applicable. Previous City Council Action(s) The City Council chose a 27 member Citizen Advisory Committee and approved a Contractual Services Agreement with 8MS Design Group on January 3, 2006.
