CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory congratulated new Councilmember Jim ProIa. He commented on a <br />recent news article on Matt Jessee, a San Leandro native and the owner of a successful <br />painting business. Councilmember Gregory reported that to give back to the community, Mr. <br />Jessee's business donates time and materials for one volunteer project each year. This year's <br />project is Clarement Middle School on College Avenue in Oakland. Councilmember Gregory <br />spoke with Mr. Jessee, who encouraged San Leandro organizations to apply for consideration <br />at matt@mbiessee.com <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza welcomed new Councilmember Jim ProIa, relinquishing to him her <br />rookie Councilmember status. <br /> <br />Councilmember ProIa thanked members of the community for supporting him and thanked <br />his wife. He pledged to listen to the community and exercise fairness. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented that he taped his first City Limits program today, with the new <br />Police Chief and Fire Chief as his guests. The show will air on Saturday, February 24 at noon <br />and Sunday, February 25 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented that tonight's meeting would be adjourned in memory of Tim <br />Holcomb, son of Planning Commissioner Esther Collier; Minnie Amaral, whose family owns <br />Amaral & Sons Sausage Company; and Robert Taylor, former San Leandro Public Works <br />Director. <br /> <br />13.
