Bancroft Middle School Playfields P&S

2

March 19, 2007

. Installation of a 20-foot tall property line fencing with landscaping along the east edge of the
project and adjacent to private residences
. Perimeter water line with hose connections around the outside of the track for maintenance
. A new storm drainage system with manhole connection to the City storm line on Bancroft
Avenue

The synthetic playfield turf is not included as part of these bid documents, but will be installed
directly by the manufacturer in coordination with the construction contractor. The City, together
with SLUSD, has elected to use a California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) listing to
purchase 'Fieldturf' brand synthetic turf directly from the manufacturer. Purchasing the
synthetic turf directly from the manufacturer reduces the uncertainty in price, resolves
difficulties in specifying proprietary turf systems, simplifies the project design, and facilitates
earlier completion of the construction.

Current City Council Policv

Not Applicable

Previous City Council Action(s)

.
