The Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Supervisor position be eliminated and the duties reassigned to either the newly created Plant Operations Supervisor or Plant Maintenance Supervisor (formerly Maintenance Mechanical Electrician Lead) positions. The Street Maintenance Worker ill position be changed to a Street Supervisor position due to operational needs and the salary range adjusted accordingly (64 to 70). The titles of the Maintenance Mechanic Entry and Journey classifications be changed to Maintenance Mechanic I and IT. The title of the Environmental Protection Specialist ill classification be changed to Environmental Services Supervisor and its salary range adjusted (77 to 78) in accordance with additional responsibilities required of the position. The Plant Maintenance Worker classification will have its salary range increased (43 to 49) to reflect the increased responsibilities given to the position that justify a salary range equal to the Maintenance Worker - Entry position in other divisions within the department. The proposed structure will allow for more efficient operations at the Water Pollution Control Plant, provide a greater degree of supervision for individual sections and ensure that employees are compensated similar to employees in analogous positions in comparable jurisdictions and will not result in the loss of employment for any current Water Pollution Control Plant employees.
