Discussion Regarding Timeline and Selection Process for New Superintendent <br />Assistant Superintendent Shira went over the timeline for selection of a new <br />Superintendent, with the impending retirement of Superintendent Glassberg. The <br />application period will close on April 27, 2007. The District will screen and conduct <br />interviews with finalists in mid-May. Site visits will also be conducted. The District <br />anticipates announcing the hiring of the new Superintendent on June 5,2007. The <br />recruitment is being handled by an educational recruitment firm which has solicited <br />much community and school district input on qualities for the new Superintendent. <br /> <br />5. Public Comments <br />Lou Filipovich commented on the selection process for the new Superintendent and <br />any other top executive position in government. <br /> <br />6. Committee Member Comments <br />Chair Souza inquired if Arroyo High School, which has Alameda County Sheriff's <br />office providing law enforcement services, shared information on problems with the <br />San Leandro Police Department. Kathy Records and Susan Mahoney, District <br />employees, commented that the Special Services Division meets monthly among the <br />Hayward Police Department, BART Police, Sheriff's Department and San Leandro <br />Police Department. The purpose of these meetings is to exchange information <br />regarding problems with high school gang activity and crime trends. The City <br />Manager will confirm this with the Police Chief. <br /> <br />7. Adiourn <br />Being no further business, Chair Souza adjourned meeting at approximately 3:00 p.m. <br />
