Membership on the Task Force includes representatives selected by <br />the City Managers Association (2 from each County), Board of Supervisors (2 from each <br />County), Conference of Mayors (2 from each County), County Fire Chiefs Association (l <br />from each County), County Police Chiefs Association (l from each County), Sheriff's <br />Department (l from each County) and technical specialists (2 from each County), CAO's <br />(l from each County). <br /> <br />What is the former chief's position on the task force? <br /> <br />Bill McCammon is the Alameda County Project Coordinator for the East Bay Regional <br />Communications System. <br /> <br />Who granted them authority for this project? <br /> <br />The project was developed as part of the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI). The <br />Department of Homeland Security has placed a high priority on interoperability, and has <br />rated the region's interoperability efforts. Future UASI and other federal funding is <br />predicated on the progress the region makes towards interoperability. <br /> <br />Who selected the members of the task force? <br /> <br />There are several task forces working at different levels. The governance task force, <br />technical and interoperable communications task forces all have been open to any <br />jurisdiction's public safety and technical representatives to participate. (See question 1 <br />for agencies who have appointed members). <br /> <br />Who is being paid to work on the project? <br /> <br />There are several agencies with representatives working on interoperability initiatives in <br />the region working in conjunction with the Super Urban Area Security Initiative (SUASI) <br />which includes Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara <br />counties. <br />
