JOINT CITY COUNCruSAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />A. Matter of Sale of Property by the San Leandro Redevelopment Agency of <br />Property Located at 232 East 14th Street, Assessor's Parcel Number 76.273.27.2; <br />Joint Redevelopment Project Area; for Construction of 60 Units of Affordable <br />Senior Housing, Approval of Negative Declaration, Section 33430 and 33431 <br />Report, and Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) Between the San <br />Leandro Redevelopment Agency, American Baptist Homes of the West <br />(ABHOW), and San Leandro Investors, LLC. <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Hanson <br />Horn, Planning Manager, went over the review process this project has undergone; <br />and Debbie Potter, Redevelopment Specialist, went over the issues relating to the <br />Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) and the Redevelopment Agency <br />participation in the project. <br /> <br />Daniel Pryfogel, Representing ABHOW, addressed the City CouncilJ <br />Redevelopment Agency and went into further detail regarding the plans for this <br />site. <br /> <br />Margaret Whitecamp, Vice President of ABHOW, addressed the City Council! <br />Redevelopment Agency, giving further detail on the process to obtain funding for <br />this project should they receive approval this evening. <br /> <br />Kay Wellington, Pastor of the Church, addressed the City Counci~ noting they <br />want to do their part to make San Leandro one of the best cities in the Bay Area in <br />which to live. She expanded on their support for the project, indicating they have <br />a vested interest in the residents ofthe proposed project. <br /> <br />Michael Piatok, Architect, explained in further detail the community design <br />process and the architectural details. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Paul Vargas, 872 Portola, addressed the City Council/Redevelopment Agency in <br />opposition to the proposed project. He also spoke in opposition to the City's Real <br />Property Transfer Tax. <br /> <br />Lisa Ho, 227 Peralta Avenue, Representing the Area Agency on Aging, <br />addressed the City Council/Redevelopment Agency in support of the proposed <br />project. <br /> <br />Jo Lynne Pollmann, 141 Bellevue Drive #208, addressed the City <br />Council/Redevelopment Agency in support of the proposed project. <br />
