Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council regarding airplane <br />noise, traffic on Davis Street that will be generated by the Creekside and <br />Cherrywood projects, as well as the impacts on the San Leandro Boulevard <br />underpass. <br /> <br />B. Tom Guarino, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the City <br />Council in support of the COSTCO expansion and the gas station. <br /> <br />C. WafTa Aborashed, 672 Tudor Road, Representing Davis West Neighborhood <br />Group, addressed the City Council, supporting the expansion of COSTCO. She <br />asked the City Council to pay attention to the fact that there will be two gas <br />stations there and the safety risk to the neighborhood with airplanes approaching <br />the airport over the gas stations. <br /> <br />D. Ellen Geis, 834 Cary Drive, addressed the City Council, stating she was proud of <br />the City Council's questioning of the Creekside developer. She also stated she <br />intends to come back to a later meeting to propose a zoning change for what can <br />be built on residential property. She concluded by speaking about the rules against <br />the right to smoke or sell cigarettes, indicating government should stay away from <br />regulating smoking. <br /> <br />E. Walter Hirt, 716 Warden Avenue, addressed the City Council regarding <br />Proposition 218 and his opinion that the City cannot loan money to a project <br />without a vote of the people. He further stated the City cannot charge more for a <br />public service than what it costs to provide the service. <br />
