Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting April 3, 2000 Page 4 5. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS A Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies 1. The Mayor reported that the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency (CMA) responded to the proposal to study a new Southern Crossing by opposing a new study in that a new study will not alter the previously conducted study in the early 1990's. B. Reports on City Council Committees 1. Finance Committee Meeting of March 22,2000. The City Councll accepted the report provided in the Agenda packet. 2. Rules and Communications Committee Meeting of March 28, 2000. Vice Mayor Galvan reported on the meeting highlights. A. The City Councll discussed technology issues specifically related to the City Councll and reached consensus on the following: (1) Staff is to use E-Mall (by whatever internet service is used) when appropriate to communicate with City Councll Members. (2) Staff is to use E-Mall to remind City Councll Members of meetings instead of leaving voice-mall messages. (3) Staff is to create a document listing upcoming, monthly calendar events and use E-Mall to transmit the monthly calendar event listing to the City Councll instead of sending out the current hard copy of the monthly calendar. (4) Staff is to include Standing City Councll Committee Meetings in the monthly calendar listing for transmittal via E-Mall to the City Councll instead of leaving voice-mall messages to remind City Council Members of Standing Committee Meetings. (5) Staff is to develop an amendment to the City Councll Members Handbook that would reflect the results of a City Councll Member forwarding confidential information. B. It was suggested the Campaign Reform issue be discussed by the entire City Councll at a future Work Session after the Rules and Communications Committee has completed their work.
