The appointments can be forwarded to Kathi Heimann in
the Community Services Department or to her (Council Member Grant) directly.

Council Member Grant indicated that a budget of $10,000 has been allocated for
Millennium activities. In conclusion, Council Member Grant went over two
proposed projects which included updating the Official San Leandro Book and a
program to encourage 2000 Minutes of Volunteer Service.

B. Council Member Lothrop suggested a representative from the Arts Council be
added to the list of members for the Committee.

C. Mayor Young also suggested the Elected Officials listing, currently in the book,
"A Garden Grows in Eden", be updated as it has not been updated since 1970.

D. Council Member Galvan requested that the Mayor consider doing a proclamation
for "Bike To Work Day" on May 16, 2000.

E. Council Member Lothrop commented on the Arts Council Reception held last
Friday and indicated there was a great turnout.

Council Member Lothrop continued by expressing some concern, based on
comments she had received, regarding residents at Heron Bay not being properly
informed of where their polling places were during the last election. The City
Clerk indicated that she will check into the matter.

F. Council Member Loeffler provided information to the City Council regarding
house designs from Portland, Oregon.

Council Member Loeffler commented on Dr. Werner's resignation as Principal of
San Leandro High School and thanked him for the two years of service that he had
given to the community, indicating it is a difficult task to be a Principal of a High
School.

Council Member Loeffler then reported on his attendance at the Children's
Memorial Program last Friday which was a tribute to those children who have died
over the last year from violence.

G. The Mayor indicated she will be sending a letter to Dr. Werner on behalf of the
City Council thanking him for his service to the community.
