<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council - May 1, 1000 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />Council Member Galvan indicated that he is proud to support Measure "B" and <br />indicated his appreciation for the efforts and enthusiasm shown by Christine <br />Monsen and the ACT A staff in promoting this issue. <br /> <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2000-63, Resolution Approving Alameda County Expenditure <br />Plan and Recommendation to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to <br />Place an Extension of the One-Half-Cent Sales Tax on the November 2000 <br />Ballot (Measure B) (provides for extending the County-Wide Measure B one- <br />half-cent retail sales/use tax to fund programs and projects described in the <br />proposed Alameda County Expenditure Plan). (2639/1980/1170) <br /> <br />M/S/C Loemer and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />C. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Council Member Grant commented on the Millennium Ad-Hoc Committee <br />Meeting of April 17, 2000. She indicated the theme for the celebration will be <br />"Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow" and the four focus areas will be Technology, <br />Cultural Diversity, History and Youth. She also mentioned they have suggested a <br />tag line to be used which will be "San Leandro Celebrates the Millennium." This <br />tag line is proposed to be utilized and added to the following programs: <br /> <br />. Dedication of the EI Camino Bell Downtown <br />. Dedication of Marina Park Playgrounds <br />. Cherry Festival and Parade <br />. Summer Concert Series <br />. Living Longer Growing Stronger Senior Health & Wellness Fair <br />. Grand Opening of the New Library <br />. Tree Lighting Ceremony <br /> <br />Council Member Grant indicated a Millennium Committee is being formed to plan <br />specific activities for the remainder of the year. The Committee will be made up of <br />one representative from: <br /> <br />Each City Commission <br />San Leandro Unified School District <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Downtown Business Association <br />North Area Business Association <br />
