" Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - May 15, 2000 Page 5 Council Member Grant commented that this matter was reviewed extensively at the City Council Finance Committee level. Council Member Galvan agreed with Council Member Loeffler that there needs to be dialogue with the community about the City's parks needs and how far below other cities our park-in-lieu fees are. Council Member Lothrop commented on "smart growth" practices and the need for park-in-lieu fees, as well as green spaces in development. Council Member Loeffler discussed the need to review these fees and the need for a more thorough review of future developments as they relate to the City's opportunities to develop new parks. Mayor Young agreed with concerns expressed about the importance of an overall strategy for future parks and recreation needs, as well as future funding resources. The following Ordinances and Resolution were then introduced: Ordinance No. 2000-07, An Ordinance Adding Chapter 13 to Title vn of the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Maps, Buildings, and Subdivisions, and Establishing Park Development Impact Fees for Park Acquisition and Construction. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 Ordinance No. 2000-08, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 1 of Title vn of the San Leandro Municipal Code Relating to Maps, Buildings, and Subdivisions, and Revising Park Land Dedication Requirements to More Accurately Reflect Existing Standards for Developed Park Land. (115311184) - Passed to Print M1S/C Grant and Galvan. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 Resolution No. 2000-64, Resolution Amending Title 6, Chapter 4 of the San Leandro Administrative Code Related to Fees and Adopting a Park Facilities Development Impact Fee for Future Development Within the City of San Leandro.
