(2888) <br /> <br />The City Council amended Minute Order No. 2000-49 and rescheduled <br />the Joint City Council/San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Public <br />Hearing from November 13, 2000 to the November 20,2000, City Council <br />Meeting, for a Joint Public Hearing regarding only the properties within <br />the City Limits of San Leandro. <br /> <br />M/S/C Nardine and Galvan. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />ADJOURN JOINT CITY COUNCIL/SAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />CONTINUE CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br /> <br />A. Bob Battinich, 2014 Evergreen Avenue, Representing San Leandro Citizens <br />for Responsible Redevelopment, addressed the City Council. He stated his <br />opposition to eminent domain for redevelopment. He submitted the following <br />documents for the record: An LA Times article regarding "A proper Rein on <br />Redevelopment"; a Petition signed by citizens and property owners of San <br />Leandro who are concerned for the manner in which the San Leandro <br />Redevelopment Agency and San Leandro City Council are conducting themselves <br />in the creation of redevelopment districts and their use of Eminent Domain upon <br />affected properties and the fabric of our community; an article by Bettina Boxall, <br />Times Staff Writer, regarding "Cities Fear Railing Will Limit Urban Renewal"; an <br />article entitled, "Development: the Unknown Government," published by <br />Municipal Officials for Redevelopment Reform (MORR); a quote from Henry <br />Clay; an article regarding "Fwd: Mall Expansion Claim Neighborhood"; an <br />additional article regarding "Loss of Goodwill Under California Eminent Domain <br />Law"; and an article regarding "Suburban Commercial Redevelopment in Los <br />Altos: A Case Study of Unsustainable Development." <br />
