NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />7.A Minute Order No. 2000-54, Minutes of the Meeting of September 18,2000. <br /> <br />The City Council amended and changed Minute Order No. 2000-49, Item 3, page <br />5, changing the date of the City Council Work Session from October 9 to <br />October 23, 2000. <br /> <br />M/S/C Nardine and Galvan. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br /> <br />The Mayor stepped down from chairing the City Council Meeting at this time so that she <br />could second the motion to approve the MOD. The Vice-Mayor took over as Chair for the <br />following action: <br /> <br />A. Resolution No. 2000-157, Resolution Adopting a Memorandum of Understanding <br />Between the City of San Leandro; the San Leandro Unified School District; the San <br />Lorenzo Unified School District; and Alameda County District 3 Supervisor, Wilma <br />Chan, Regarding the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and Their <br />Families (facilitates the development of policies, programs, and resources for the <br />community's children, youth, and families, as identified in a Youth Development <br />Master Plan). (1947) <br /> <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Young. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br /> <br />The Mayor continued as Chair of the meeting from this point forward. <br /> <br />B. Resolution No. 2000-158, Resolution Approving a Participating Public <br />Jurisdictions (PPJ) Agreement Between the City of San Leandro, the County of <br />Alameda, and the City of Fremont, to Jointly Fund the Acquisition and <br />Rehabilitation of a Former Convalescent Hospital for Use as Transitional Housing <br />for Homeless Families (provides City of San Leandro HOME funds to Family <br />Emergency Shelter Coalition (FESCO), a non-profit, public-benefit corporation, to <br />fund the acquisition and rehabilitation of a former convalescent home, located at <br />21568 Banyan Street, Hayward, in the unincorporated, Cherryland area of Alameda <br />County, for use as mid-length (6-1O-month stay) transitional housing for low- <br />income homeless families).
