CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Glaze, Grant, Loeffler, Nardine; <br />Mayor Young <br /> <br />ABSENT: Council Member Lothrop <br /> <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br />The Mayor indicated that she had presented the following proclamations since the last <br />City Council Meeting: <br /> <br />. A Commendation recognizing Halcyon Baptist Church on its 50th Anniversary. <br />. A Proclamation proclaiming October I, 2000 as "San Leandro Sausage and <br />Suds Day" in San Leandro. <br />. A Proclamation proclaiming September 23,200 as "Kids' Day <br />America!International" in San Leandro. <br />. A Commendation congratulating the Economic Development Alliance for <br />Business on its 10th Anniversary. <br />. A Proclamation proclaiming October 10,2000 as "National Day of the Republic <br />of China" in the City of San Leandro. <br /> <br />3. PUBLIC HEARING - CITY COUNCIL ONLY <br /> <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. When you address the <br />City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the <br />order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and addresses <br />obtained. <br /> <br />A. Matter of Adoption of City Manager's Proposed Alternate Budget, Including the <br />San Leandro Economic Development Agency, Fiscal Year 2000-2001 (identified in <br />this Alternate Budget are service cuts if the repeal of the Real Property Transfer Tax <br />is approved via a vote of the electorate on November 7,2000). <br /> <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, City <br />Manager John Jermanis gave an overview of the Alternate Budget. His comments <br />were followed by presentations from Finance Director, Tim Hansen and Police <br />Chief, Joseph Kitchen. <br />
