(1428) <br /> <br />The City Council accepted the initial recommendations, as presented at <br />the October 9, 2000, Work Session, and canceled the October 23, 2000, <br />City Council Work Session. <br /> <br />M/S/C Galvan and Grant. Ayes: 5; Noes: 0; Absent: Young and Nardine <br /> <br />In response to inquiry by Council Member Lothrop, staff noted that the Quarry <br />Site use will come up in the Phase IT of the GP AC' s efforts and there is a plan to <br />have regular meetings to gain community input. <br /> <br />F. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />1. Council Member Loeffler commented on the need to address the appearances of <br />San Leandro's business areas relating to cleanliness. He noted complaints he had <br />received regarding the need for clean up. He suggested it was time for the City <br />and Chamber to form a task force to look at the concept of a "San Leandro Pride <br />Week. " <br /> <br />Noting that Dr. Josh Fong had served in the Navy as a young man, Council <br />Member Loeffler suggested that the City Council adjourn the meeting this evening <br />in honor of the 17 U.S. Navy personnel who lost their lives in the tragic events in <br />Yemen. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Lothrop asked for some clarification on the status of the <br />development next to the Casa Peralta. She also asked for an explanation of the <br />$150,000 reported as the City's cost of maintaining the Casa Peralta. <br />
