Matter of General Plan Advisory Committee (GP AC) Report to the City Council (follow up from the City Council Work Session of October 9,2000). Council Member Galvan indicated that last week' s Work Session was a good opportunity to see what direction the GP AC is moving in as they consider land uses in the City. He suggested it would be helpful to the GP AC if the City Council took a straw vote in support of the recommendations that they have issued so far in the process, which would allow them to feel more confident as they move forward to make recommendations on other issues. Council Member Galvan continued by indicated that he understands that there is a Work Session scheduled for October 23 to discuss proposed land uses for the Hudson Lumber and Yokota Nursery sites. He suggested that since the GP AC spoke with such clarity on their proposals for land uses on those sites, he does not see the need to discuss the issue further until the final General Plan comes to the City Council for adoption. He suggested that the City Council confirm to the GP AC that the City Council is in support of their initial recommendations as presented at the October 9th Work Session and that they are moving in the right direction.
