<br />Minutes- City of San Leandro City Council and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -- December 18, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Matter of Nomination of Member to Recreation and Parks Commission (San <br />Lorenzo Unified School District) San Lorenzo Unified School District submitted <br />three candidates for consideration by the City Council. They were Kim Brockman, <br />Isabel Polvorosa and Diana Souza). <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze thanked Kim Brockman for her many years of service on the <br />Recreation and Parks Commission. <br /> <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2000-64, Matter of Nomination of Member to Recreation <br />and Parks Commission (San Lorenzo Unified School District) (San Lorenzo <br />Unified School District submitted three candidates for City Council <br />consideration). (1020) <br /> <br />The City Council approved the nomination of Diana Souza to the <br />Recreation and Parks Commission, San Lorenzo Unified School District <br />Representative. <br /> <br />M/S/C Glaze and Lothrop. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Grant <br /> <br />B. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />There was nothing to report. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. The Mayor reported Tony Santos' resignation from the General Plan Advisory <br />Committee. She also remarked on the City Council decision regarding the Airport <br />Settlement Agreement, and that in particular, the decision was made in the best <br />interest of the entire community. <br /> <br />B. Council Member Galvan remarked on how he has enjoyed working with Council <br />Member Lothrop over the last four years. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Nardine also remarked that it has been a pleasure serving with <br />Council Member Lothrop over the last two years. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine also congratulated the City Manager, Department <br />Heads, and staff on the reopening of the Main Library and for the successful Tree <br />Lighting Ceremony. <br />
