Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant reported on the ACTIA meeting she attended on behalf of Mayor <br />Santos. A survey was recently sent out on ACTIA's small and local business enterprise <br />programs. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant reported that she also attended the Congestion Management Agency <br />(CMA) meeting on behalf of Councilmember Starosciak. She reported that there isa <br />small contingent on the CMA which is interested in revisiting the issue of allowing <br />trucks back on 1-580, and the meeting packet contained a memo from CMA Executive <br />Director Dennis Fay to the CMA, recommending a study of the issue. Vice Mayor <br />Grant recalled that several years ago, members of the City Council worked with then <br />Assemblymember Ellen Corbett to support legislation to make the truck ban permanent. <br />Councilmember Starosciak stated that she will monitor the issue and work with the <br />Council's counterparts in Oakland and the County Supervisors representing San <br />Leandro and Oakland. Vice Mayor Grant recalled that the Council held community <br />meetings and took a position on the issue. Mayor Santos requested that staff research <br />the actions that were taken on the matter by the former City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza reported that she and Councilmember Gregory attended a Fire <br />Commission meeting last week. The Fire Department gave a presentation on its <br />vehicles and fleet maintenance. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos reported that he attended a Waste Management Authority (WMA) <br />meeting on behalf of Vice Mayor Grant. He reported on WMA's effort to reduce waste <br />by 75% by 2010, and there was concern that the County may not make the goal. Mayor <br />Santos encouraged the Council to visit www.stopwaste.or~ for recycling information. <br /> <br />B. Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />C.
