Committee Member Comments <br /> <br />Committee Member Sousa thanked staff for their time and efforts in putting together the <br />presentations and feels that there is no need to rush through the items. She stated that <br />these meetings are a wise use of time and appreciates the opportunity to discuss the <br />Issues. <br /> <br />Committee Member Gregory stated that he would like to look at programs that encourage <br />people to walk and ride bicycles. He would like to see upgrades to the crosswalks and <br />materials. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos stated that in regards to the AT&T Light Speed presentation (meeting of <br />March 28, 2007), we did the right thing. He stated that after further discussion, the <br />program is not as was presented that day. AT&T has 4 different styles of boxes and will <br />work with the city on what type we want installed. According to information he <br />received, they are willing to work with the Engineering and Transportation in that regard. <br /> <br />John Jermanis asked if it would be helpful if Engineering and Transportation updated the <br />committee when they are asked for encroachment permits, so people know when they're <br />coming along. Committee Member Santos asked if AT&T can put the boxes anywhere <br />within a public right of way. Uche Udemezue explained that we try to guide them to <br />where they will have minimal impact. <br /> <br />6. Adjourn <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:14 p.m. <br />
