Its signage is garish and its business is less than optimal for such a significant <br />spot. It will detract from Pelton Center and result in a lowering of surrounding property values. It will <br />not add to the mix of shops except at the very lower end, and this area of downtown should not cater to <br />lower end shops but needs to be upgraded. Although groceries might be a valued commodity in the <br />abstract, having salvaged goods, dented cans and seconds at fire sale prices may even patrons from <br />better maintained shops and purveyors of better quality merchandise, thus lowering the overall quality of <br />shops in the community.
