Livermore, Kathleen

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Katie Eagan & Jeff Phillips [eaglips@sent.com]
Thursday, June 07, 2007 8:57 AM
Livermore, Kathleen
[POSSIBLE SPAM] grocery outlet

Importance:

Low

I am unable to attend the meeting to protest the building of a Grocery Outlet on the old
Albertson's site, but I would like to write and voice my disapproval of the plan.

Having grown up in Oakland and lived in Boston, two cities with personality and vibrant
neighborhoods, I find living in San Leandro rather strange. The absence of retail and
communal spaces downtown makes it uninviting, and the few places where one can eat and
socialize are like oases separated from one another by streets, lack of inviting retail in
between them, and the lack of open grassy space.

Please find a use for the Albertson's land that helps improve our downtown.

Catherine Eagan

1
